Welcome to our Post Potter Pursuit Blog!
We’re so excited you found us. I guess that means your passion for reading is as strong as ours. BUT, more importantly, your desire to find another series as amazing and fulfilling as the Harry Potter series is–one that will sweep you away, make you laugh and cry, and leave you yearning to read the next page to find out what is going to happen—is as strong as ours. That has been our goal ever since the last Harry Potter book was published, and though it’s been years, we’re still searching for that special series. We’re confident there’s another out there somewhere and we’re dedicated to finding it!
Oh, of course, we’ve read Twilight–several wasted hours of my life that I’ll never get back. But I persevered through all four books, mainly because of all the hype. I kept telling myself surely there can’t be this much buzz about books that are as bad as these were. So I read on, expecting it to get better at some point–it didn’t! Lesson learned.
We’ve also read the Hunger Games, the Mortal Instruments series, the Divergent series and all the other big buzz series. And though we both thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend them, we wouldn’t classify it in the same realm as Harry Potter. In fact, we’ve read dozens and dozens AND dozens of books, but so far, nothing holds up to HP. Which I guess proves what huge fans we both are. In fact, T Lynn’s goal is to get the complete series of HP books from every country that has published them. She already has four editions and re-reads them about once a year. Yes … we are both HP freaks and proud to admit it!
But we know that somewhere out there, there is another great series, and we are on a quest to find it. Will you join us on this journey? We’ll gladly take recommendations, or if you are an author who thinks your series could be what we’re looking for, please feel free to let us know about it. We are particularly interested in finding the next great Indie Author.

Who We Are:
MJ Bell –
Award-winning Author of the Chronicles of the Secret Prince, Book I- Before the Full Moon Rises, Book II- Once Upon a Darker Time
I actually didn’t become an avid reader until I was a mother. I’m not sure what happened, it might have been something in the water, but once that bug hit me, I couldn’t get enough. It’s hard to explain—just one day I picked up a book (don’t even remember what it was- I think it was a romance) and from that point on, I had to have a book in my hand or by my bedside to read or I felt empty inside. Books suddenly became as important to me as the air I breathe! I’ve tried a lot of different genres and like most everything (except horror—Steven King’s The Shining cured me forever and I’m too big of a chicken to try another! I also can’t stomach sappy, ‘her loins throbbed as she felt his bulge press up against her’ kind of romance novels. But my true love is fantasy, especially after reading HP. My daughter, T Lynn, insisted I read it and from the first page I was and still am truly in awe of JK Rowling for the masterpiece she produced. Because of her, hundreds of thousands of young people have discovered the joy of reading and that is my dream too. Which is why I started writing … I want to give everyone the opportunity to experience the thrill of a good book—a real page turner that draws you in and you just can’t put down. There’s a lot of them out there – I know there are, and it’s going to be a fun adventure searching for them!
T Lynn –
As a child/teenager, I was an avid reader. I loved to read, and remember receiving my first novel, The Little Princess, from my Grandmother when I was six or seven. In my younger days, I mostly read Mystery novels (Mary Higgins Clark was my favorite author), or anything assigned to me in school. After I left college, I stopped reading for a while. Then, a friend of my husband’s recommended Harry Potter to him, and he read The Sorcerer’s Stone while we were flying on our Honeymoon. He kept raving about it to me, and I just thought he was silly for reading a children’s book. When the first movie came out, he told me he would not take me to see the movie until I read the book. I conceded and read the first book, and the rest, as they say, is history. I devoured the first 4 books, and went to buy the 5th, 6th and 7th books at midnight. I re-read the series once a year if I can, and still enjoy them and find something new each time. Needless to say, HP reignited a passion for reading that I thought was gone. I am partial to YA books, rather than adult novels. YA books, in my opinion, have more action/adventure and less sex and smut. I look forward to discussing all the books I have read and reading new books and sharing my thoughts about them with others. While I have read several book series that are wonderful and I absolutely love, they aren’t HP.
